Physical Therapy

As Doctors of Physical Therapy, we will look at your whole body, assess your posture, and assess your movement patterns. We look for where your body moves easily, and where it doesn't move as easily. Our skills for treating pain and movement dysfunction include manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, and being a part of your healthcare team.

Dr. Sarah Guenzburger

Dr. Sarah Guenzburger is a Physical Therapist, located in Central Oregon. She has been working in the PT industry for over a decade, starting as a tech, attending 7 years of school to obtain her doctorate, and then working as a clinician for over 5 years.

She has worked in a variety of settings, including Outpatient Hospital Based with Kessler Rehabilitation, Independent and Assisted Living Facilities, Occupational Health Urgent Care, General Outpatient, and Outpatient Orthopedic PT. Her treatment plans focus on an exercise routine created specifically for you, with manual techniques to help you move better. She observes posture and functional movements to understand the “why” behind your movement dysfunction. This helps her provide guidance on techniques which you can start incorporating at home right away. She strives to provide the highest quality physical therapy care possible, during one on one, 60 minute sessions. She encourages questions and humor during sessions.

Sarah enjoys working with a variety of people and conditions including:

Dr. Nicki Leach is an energetic and enthusiastic Pennsylvania native. She grew up racing around the rolling hills of the Appalachian mountains barefoot exploring the farmland and forests around her home. She has an insatiable curiosity that has led her to take many teaching roles in her life and ultimately allowed her to find her home as a partner in Compassion Physio. The one on one, 60 minute sessions allow for time to unwind the puzzle of your own unique body.

She has practiced PT in multiple countries allowing first hand experience into how the way you use your bodies in your daily life requires a specialized and individualized approach to optimize your own personal idea of wellness.

Nicki enjoys working with a wide variety of individuals including:

Orthopedics - foot and ankle pain and dysfunction, plantar fasciitis, impingement, bursitis, tendinopathies, adhesive capsulitis/ frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, labral tears, meniscus tears, ACL rehabilitation, recurrent ankle sprains, heel pain, metatarsalgia, morton’s neuroma, shoulder dislocations, hypermobility, chronic upper trap tightness, postural dysfunction, shoulder pain, knee pain, knee sprain, lumbar sprain, arthritis, pain without injury, back pain, thoracic pain, SI joint pain, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, fractures, post-operative/ post-surgical, jaw pain, hip pain, muscle spasms, joint replacement prehab and rehab, neck pain, headaches, herniated discs, spinal degeneration, rib pain, nerve entrapment with numbness and tingling, rheumatoid arthritis, and any general injury or impairment to body regions.

Recreational and Competitive Runners - road running, trail running, ultra-running, triathalons, iron men competitions, etc.

Recreational or Competitive Athletes - Overhead athletes, soccer, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, track and field, snowboarding, skiing, weight lifting, and cross-fit among others

Persistent pain - remember that old injury when you were 15, or that interesting pain that multiple PTs have thrown their hat in the ring to treat without success? Your entire right side just doesn’t work the same as the left? Nicki is excellent at connecting the entire body in a holistic treatment plan to help you overall move more freely.

Barefoot/ Minimalist foot wear transitions - our poor feet are used to shoes with narrow toe boxes, heel lift, and lots of cushion leading people with a desire for a more minimal footwear experience to end up with new and unsettling injuries. Nicki can help you prevent that and transition safely into an appropriate shoe for your foot and body.

Fun Facts

After having several untreated injuries in her early sporting career in high school into D1 collegiate athletics, she was able to get a deep grasp at the emotional, physical, and mental toll pain and impairments can create in our lives. She has been able to utilize that journey to meet patients in the midst of pain and struggle with a focused intention of reclaiming movement, confidence, and ease in daily life. Nicki has a deep love of reading, writing, and the creative arts (and this often influences her perspectives and approach to patient care). She is a lover of animals and enjoys training her puppy with the hopes of competing in future trials. She is always looking for new ways to move and learn to help keep her body and brain sharp. One of her major life goals is to be able to do a controlled handstand. One of Nicki’s deepest passions is traveling to experience new cultures, geography, people, and FOOD!
